Daddy Fun Time

Claire and Kevin got to spend some quality time together yesterday while I was with some girlfriends enjoying a day of sun, mineral baths, mud treatments, and moisturizing at the Glen Ivy Spa. It was quite a treat! The two of them had a good day together too. She watched Mystery Science Theater with the guys, and at some point posed for that picture. I leave the baby for one day and somehow she is on the kitchen table covered in money. Apparently everyone chipped in for pizza and the idea for the above composition just came to him. Oh Kevin! And poor Claire. Her father will forever be taking silly pictures of her for his own amusement. It kind of reminds me of those rap videos where the people just wave handfuls of cash around... although they usually have 100s, not 5s! We're small time in the Bringard house!

Six hours!

I actually got 6 hours of sleep last night... in a row! It was amazing! I feel great! And so does Claire, as you can tell from the picture. No fussing at all today. And when I put her down for a nap, she fell asleep all on her own without and rocking or anything. So, today is a good day. I hope it is part of a trend! The previous two days were a little rocky, probably because of the vaccinations.

Shots

Claire went to the pediatrician this morning for her first round of vaccinations. She got one shot and one oral dose. She screamed heartily and has slept soundly since then. She weighed in at 10 pounds exactly and is 21 inches tall. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and height. She is finally getting too big for the newborn size clothes, and is ready to graduate from the X-small to the small diaper covers.  She's getting so big!

Sleeping!

It was incredible! For the first time Claire went to sleep at 8 pm! No hours of fussing and rocking and bouncing. She zonked out while I was burping her. I put her in her crib assuming she's be up again in 5 minutes as is her usual pattern. But she slept till 1:00! Amazing! And then after she ate, she fell asleep again w/o any coaxing. Best night so far! Slowly but surely we're getting there!

Reasons Why I Wish I Was Still Pregnant

1. I slept great. Now, not so much.

2. My skin was nice and clear. Now, not so much.

3. My hair was full and curly. That is also gone.

4. Clothes that clung to my belly looked cute. Now they absolutely do not. 

The rest of the list will come later, because I just took the cutest pictures! Tammi gave Claire this shabby chic glam headband. It is AMAZING! 

We went to the pediatrician yesterday. Claire is now 9 pounds 6 ounces and doing great. She smiles and coos when you talk to her. It's the best! And she is starting to go to sleep better. Well, it's only been 2 days, so maybe I shouldn't jinx it just yet!

We think she's adorable! So, just now Kevin was holding her, and she was wide awake and making all sorts of noise. Then she took a deep breath and fell deeply asleep... so asleep that as we laughed hysterically and tried to wake her up, she wouldn't even stir. So funny. And kind of cruel that she doesn't sleep that quickly and soundly at 3 am!
